Switching from Drata to Aegis Firma

Drata is a strong SOC 2 and ISO 27001 automation platform. If your compliance programme is primarily about EU AI Act obligations, US state AI laws, and GDPR for AI — not certification — Aegis Firma offers the same regulatory depth at a fraction of Drata's price. This guide walks through the full migration.

  • Control evidence (all files)
  • People list
  • Vendor list
  • Policy documents

Step-by-Step Migration Guide

1

Export your control evidence from Drata

Go to Drata > Evidence > Export All. Download your evidence collection — PDFs, screenshots, and CSVs. Save in an organised folder.

2

Download your People and Vendor data

Export your People list (for training records) and Vendor list (for AI vendor risk management in Aegis Firma).

3

Sign up for Aegis Firma

Create your account at aegisfirma.com. The 5-step onboarding takes under 10 minutes. Select your frameworks: EU AI Act, GDPR, US state AI laws, or others.

4

Install the browser extension

Install the free Aegis Firma extension. It scans your team's browser and automatically builds your AI tool inventory — what took days in Drata takes minutes.

5

Upload evidence files

Go to Evidence in your dashboard. Upload files from your Drata export. Aegis Firma's categories (Policy, Training Record, Audit Report, System Config) map directly to Drata's.

6

Import your vendors

Add your AI vendors under the Vendors section. Aegis Firma auto-scores risk and monitors contract renewal dates.

7

Generate compliance documents

Use the Documents section to generate your AI policy, risk assessment, and transparency notices — all pre-populated from your onboarding answers.

8

Set up regulatory monitoring

Go to Settings > Alerts. Opt in to deadline alerts for your selected jurisdictions. Aegis Firma monitors EU Official Journal, US Federal Register, and 4 other live feeds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Aegis Firma replace Drata for SOC 2?

No. Aegis Firma does not automate SOC 2 or ISO 27001 evidence collection. If SOC 2 certification is your goal, Drata remains the right tool. Aegis Firma covers the AI regulatory compliance layer that Drata does not address — EU AI Act, US state AI laws, AI policies, risk assessments.

Will my evidence still be accepted by auditors?

Yes. Aegis Firma stores evidence with timestamps, user attribution, and cryptographic signatures (Ed25519). Each export includes a signed manifest that auditors can verify at aegisfirma.com/verify/[hash].

What about Drata's integrations?

Drata's main value is automated cloud evidence collection (AWS, GitHub, Okta). Aegis Firma does not automate cloud evidence collection — you upload evidence manually or via integrations. For AI regulatory compliance, the required evidence is policy documents, training records, and risk assessments — not automated control checks.
